      The objective was to describe the management of administrative competencies in the Human Resources Department of the Company Hermanos Pietralunga, S.A. Venezuela. The research was typified as descriptive, with a field design, non-experimental. Direct observation and unstructured interview were used as data collection techniques. The population was 5 employees of the Department. The results indicate that there is no good management by administrative competencies, which allows to conclude that it is necessary to establish strategies that strengthen management by administrative competencies to optimize the performance of the human talent that works in it.       El objetivo fue describir la gestión de competencias administrativas en el Departamento de Recursos Humanos de la Empresa Hermanos Pietralunga, S.A. Venezuela. La investigación se tipificó descriptiva, con diseño de campo, no experimental. Como técnicas de recolección de datos se utilizó la observación directa y la entrevista no estructurada. La población fue de 5 empleados del Departamento. Los resultados indican que no existe una buena gestión por competencias administrativas, lo que permite concluir que es necesario establecer estrategias que fortalezcan la gestión por competencias administrativas para optimizar el desempeño del talento humano que labora en el mismo.
