      This research focuses on establishing the influence of social institutions in organizational behavior. In its development it was used a descriptive and methodological documentary strategy. Conceptualizations of institution, organization and organizational behavior are discussed, relating them to verify their impact on the study. It is concluded that organizational behavior is vital in organizations to channel the understanding and control of work behaviors, route towards harmonization of relations and efforts to achieve organizational goals; under the aegis of existing institutions.       Esta investigación se centra en establecer la influencia de las instituciones sociales en el comportamiento organizacional. En su desarrollo se recurrió a una estrategia metodológica de tipo descriptiva y documental. Se abordan las conceptualizaciones de institución, organización y comportamiento organizacional, relacionándolos para verificar su incidencia en el estudio. Se concluye que el comportamiento organizacional es vital en las organizaciones para canalizar el entendimiento y control de las conductas laborales, enrumbándolas hacia la armonización de las relaciones y los esfuerzos para el logro de los objetivos organizacionales; bajo el amparo de las instituciones vigentes.
