      The article explains why men need identities for their penises. According to psychologist Wendy Walsh, parents make a big mistake when they do not anatomically correct sex information with their children. She adds that some men struggle with integrating the primal animal with the civil human. Another reason, Walsh notes, is that disassociating the penis can help men separate sex and emotional feelings in case their advances are turned down.
