Panopto is a video recording, hosting, and streaming platform that Wilson College has integrated into Canvas. You and your professors will be able to record lectures, activities, field experiences, etc. for viewing at your leisure. Most of what you do as a student with Panopto will be just viewing videos. If your professor assigns an assignment where you need to record or upload a video, you will need to know what you're doing. Please email james.dannibale@wilson.edu or fill out the Technology Training Request Form if you need help. Please be sure to read these 2 pages and watch the associated videos on the pages.
Panopto has a mobile app for Android and Apple. The 2 links below will take you to instructions for how to download and use the apps. When it asks you for a web address or server name, use wilson.hosted.panopto.com
Prezi is an interesting online presentation tool because it is truly a wide open canvas allowing you to place content wherever you want. It is somewhat overwhelming if you don't take the time to practice before truly needing to use Prezi. Here are some resources that will help you use Prezi if you'd like to give it a try. One thing to keep in mind is that when you make a Prezi account you get a free upgrade to an educational license if you use your Wilson.edu email. It is also worth noting that Prezi just underwent a large upgrade. Some of the resources on this page are for Prezi Classic. The upgraded version is called Prezi Next.

The Conferences tool in Canvas is a web-conferencing solution that can be used by everyone in Canvas, assuming your professor has enabled access to it. This tool can be used by professors to hold online lectures, office hours, etc. This guide focuses on student use of Conferences.
Students can use Conferences for group meetings and study groups. It is not always convenient to figure out a time to meet physically so you can use Conferences to meet digitally. You can share your webcam and your screen with anyone invited to the Conference.
Keep in mind that some professors may require you to hold your own Conferences but provide them with a recording of the meeting. If you are instructed to do this, make sure you enable recording and remember to click record/stop recording during the meeting.
Here are 2 videos. One was created by a librarian at Wilson College and the other was created by Canvas. We're including both so you can choose your preference.
**One thing to know that the video doesn't cover: If you are recording a conference with no time limit you will need to click "End" on the Conferences page to end the conference and tell Canvas to begin processing the recording.**
